Welcome to the ARVRinEDU Advent Calendar 2022! Our special focus this year is on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). These mini blogs will spotlight an immersive resource that can be easily implemented into the curriculum.
Living Anatomy: Journey through the Heart
Bring your students on a virtual reality journey through the heart IN YOUR BROWSER. Using WebXR in Mozilla Hubs, students can join the experience on multiple devices, including mobile, Chromebooks, laptops, tablets, and VR headsets. The project was formed for the NYU Grossman School of Medicine students by Greg Dorsainville and Kristen Ramirez.
Students travel through 6 stages, beginning with an introduction to the heart. The resources are provided throughout the experience to allow students to collaborate or educators to share main concepts. Then the experience guides students into a 3D exploration of various parts of the heart.
No app to download and no high-end (expensive) device to purchase; use the common devices we have in our classrooms.
