STEAMverse Day 19 - Quiver Masks

Welcome to the ARVRinEDU Advent Calendar 2022! Our special focus this year is on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). These mini blogs will spotlight an immersive resource that can be easily implemented into the curriculum.

Quiver Masks (ART, AR)

I love the creative possibilities of using the Quiver Masks, especially during the Christmas season. Wear AR face filters similar to what you’d use on social media, but using your own designs. Print, color, view in AR, and then place your artwork on your face. Be a reindeer, penguin, snow/gingerbread character, or SANTA!! Your students will be able to design a variety of other holiday masks with these as a starting point.

Print out the masks below for your students and download the Quiver app to see these masks and MANY more come to life.

I had the privilege of joining Mrs. Brantley’s middle school classroom to use many immersive resources, including the Quiver masks. View the recap in the video below and watch a flashback from 2020 with my daughter.

Steps to get started

  1. Download the Quiver app here.

  2. Print the masks by downloading the PDF documents above. Find these and more here.

  3. Color the masks to your preference.

  4. Scan the sheet with your Quiver app. The page will turn blue when it’s in view.

  5. Flip the camera to see the colored AR mask on your face.
