Day 31: AstroReality

The AstroReality brand includes a comprehensive inventory of augmented reality experiences. From the physical objects such as planets, posters, and notebooks to ARKit apps, AstroReality beautifully displays science as we’ve never seen before.

The foundational products from the AstroReality brand are the 3D printed planets. Each planet is carefully crafted and hand-painted to reflect the most accurate description of the planets with the precision of 0.025 millimeters of 4000 DPI (meaning really, really detailed). It’s so precise that the earth exposes the details of the oceans, mountains, and land.

Not only does AstroReality bring in the tactile learning, but they also include the digital experience with augmented reality. The AR component provides learning enhancements to the physical product by layering accurate data or opening the planets to explore in the center. The planets can showcase a multitude of information, including the human population, air traffic, mammal population, bird and ocean migration patterns, the interior of the earth, volcanoes, fault lines, rivers, and more.

With or without the physical planets, students can explore this information using the ARKit app, AstroReality Earth (Android or iOS). Switch from the 3D view to the AR view and place it on the ground or the table. Walk around the earth and make connections to the visually displayed data. Scroll quickly or slowly through the timeline to see the changes. Compare and contrast locations, time periods, and changing or repeating patterns.

Are you interested in checking out the details of the moon? Download the AstroReality app (Android or iOS) and select Lunar AR Poster. Tap GO and view this image below while in the app (the camera will come on to scan the poster).

The AstroReality products will give you a new, realistic perspective of humanity and how we live. You will never see the world the same again!

Due to shipping delays, I am waiting for some of the 3D items to come in. When the items are received, I will update this blog to showcase more of the beautiful products that come alive in augmented reality.

This blog is part of the #31DaysofARVRinEDU event. Expect a new augmented or virtual reality resource for the classroom to post every day in March. All subscribers will receive daily notifications.

Thank you for joining me for #31DaysofARVRinEDU! I am currently working to provide more information about virtual professional development for districts on augmented and virtual reality. I will share more information soon!
