Yesterday I had the honor of watching and live streaming a genius hour project. Elli was able to bring in an extraordinary interactive project with her explanation of turtles using augmented reality. The tool she selected was Quiver Vision. Using augmented reality, the students were able to color a sheet and see the turtle come alive in the colors they selected. In addition, students were able to toggle between their colors and the sea turtle's realistic colors. The app also displayed the baby turtles to swim around the room. The last component of this AR activity was the fun facts about the turtle. Did you know that sea turtles can't duck into their shells like land turtles?
Shoutout to Mrs. Lobue's class, who is going through genius hour projects and doing wonderful work for the community and beyond!
The Quiver Vision collections are enormous, including subscriptions, paid content, and free experiences. One of my favorite new Quiver Vision products is the customized AR face filters (AKA face masks). I shared more about those activities in the ARVRinEDU Advent Calendar on December 11. The students can customize their masks and see them come to life when they have the camera on their faces. It's really quite amazing what we can do with this technology.
